Adopt a Border Collie (short coat)

Border Collie (short coat) Dog

Chipmunk the Dog needs a home

Chipmunk was born in 2017 and still acts like a playful, energetic puppy. Her unique, light brown eyes are mesmerizing. Chipmunk is extremely treat motivated and eager to please. She's smart, too, and picks up new training cues easily. She will guard food, and she guarded it from other dogs and cats in a previous home, so she should be separated during mealtimes. Chipmunk lived with cats as well as smaller dogs in her previous home. She did playfully chase the cats when given the opportunity, so she should be supervised around them. At the Sanctuary, she has been great with other dogs but is a little nervous at first around bigger, exuberant dogs. Because she was able to climb or jump over baby gates in the past, she may jump a yard fence. At Dogtown she is learning to keep all four feet on the floor, as she is currently jumpy and mouthy. She knows " sit and " down and is working on other training cues such as " wait and " leave it. Chipmunk would love to find an active home with a person or family who will understand her puppy-like behavior and keep working on training with her.
